New collaboration to uncover digital maturity in Danish real estate

PropTech Denmark & Colliers uncovers the Danish real estate sector's digital maturity and development in a new grant study. The results will be announced this spring in the new Danish PropTech Report 2022.

Together, the biggest retail broker in Denmark and the organisation for innovation and digital development in real estate will examine how digital the actors on the commercial real estate market actually are.

This will happen in a study of everything from startups to the well-established players who will judge their own and the industry’s ability to adapt and develop digitally.

“With this new collaboration, we will take the temperature on how digital the Danish real estate industry actually is, and to what degree the industry can grasp the enormous potential proptech and digitalization gives. At the same time, we will give the industry players a digital benchmark, which will hopefully get even more to open their eyes to the future. We will produce the report ourselves like last year when it came out the first time. But this year, we are allying with Colliers, which gives us access to a larger analytical device and thus the possibilities to deliver an even more impactful and leading analysis," states Jakob Stoumann, former Network Director at PropTech Denmark.

PropTech transforms the industry

Proptech and digitalisation are currently the supremely biggest force for change in the real estate industry. Globally, more than $9 billion has been invested in proptech startups this year alone. Over the past five years, in Denmark, we have seen the number of proptech companies rise from just a tiny handful to more than 150 companies that all provide innovative digital solutions for the real estate industry.

In the study, the participating companies will, among other things, be asked about their digital strategy and what they see as the biggest leg-spans for the development and implementation of digital solutions right now. Thus, the task of processing the answers and translating them into insights is a task that fits well with Colliers:

"With the largest department of assessment and consulting in the real estate industry, we have plenty of experience in conducting and producing analyses. In addition, the cooperation is naturally in line with our goal of entering into strategic collaborations that can help accelerate digital development and data transparency both for ourselves and for the industry," says Troels Lau Larsen, COO at Colliers.

The Danish PropTech Report 2022 will be published in the spring.
